Hi, can some advise, if a helper is release from employer 1 month before the actual contract completion date and helper has a letter from employer stating this, is this considered a finish contract or termination. Also, the helper will not be residing at employers home on the realease date. Can the helper find new employer and will she have to go back home for the paperwork to be process. Is this what is meant by release early on some of the helper advertising in xpat site, thanks in advance.

You need to check her visa expiration date, apparently they get 28 days before visa expiration - "early release". But do double check with a DH agency because only a finished contract helper can sign new contract and start work instantly. Terminated contract will need to go back to Philippines.

Although I have heard from my helper that her cousin was terminated but went to Macau for a few days to wait for new visa, came back and started work straight away for new employer.

Initially I thought only Indo maids can do that but it seems like Filippino maids can also.

Is there a website to explain what constitutes are early release vs termination? it seems based on haniikwok, the treatment for either case is different. I am about to release my helper one month early but not sure what is the procedure. I would like for the helper to have the option for herself to sign new conrract and start work instantly or goign back. If termination result in her returning to philiphines mandatory, then, it may not work for her.
