Our helper just finished contract with us and I got her a return air ticket from HK to Manila. She said that the ticket must be from HK to her 'Place of Origin' which is Tacloban. I didn't realise that I needed to do that. But I found a connecting flight from Manila to Tacloban on Cebu Air.
Does anyone know the rules about the return air ticket? Does it have to be to the helper's 'Place of Origin' or is it sufficient to provide the ticket from HK to Manila? If there is a bus/train that goes to Tacloban, can I just provide the money for the ticket for that mode of transport?

Air tickets must be to the home town, with fares to and from the airport either end, plus 100hkd per day for food allowance when traveling.
Normally her ticket should only be one way, if she is not coming back for another contract with you,if she is then the return ticket is OK. If you didn't pay her incoming fare at the beginning of the contract, then you owe her what it would have cost.
Employers normally pay one ticket at the start of contract-incoming, and one ticket to return at the end of contract.
Get her to sign for any moneys you give her and the air ticket before she goes.

You are responsible for door to door transportation from your home to hers including any required taxi, bus, flight, train or ferry. Plus a meal allowance.
Also as Susie1 says, it is both ways bracketing the contract.
