Hi,
I have recently appointed a new FDH who has terminated her contract. We have all the correct documentation and would like to submit the application. Our new helper can do this on the day she departs to the Philippines. Unfortunately we are not in HK for another 4 weeks and our helper needs to notarise the contract. She has been told that she can not do this at the Philippines Consulate in HK, we need an agent. I have tried to contact the consulate but have been unable to speak to anyone. Can anyone confirm this?

By "terminated", do you mean that she completed her previous contract or that she was released before the end of the contract. In the former case, you do not need an agent. In the latter case you do.

Thanks for your response. She terminated her contract. Just want to clarify, the Philippines Consulate will only deal with agents, not there own citizens? It seems unfair.

I'm not sure in this case. It tends to get pretty arcane. Personally I'd just bite the bullet and get an agent to deal with it.
