false profile information provided by helpers

It is essential to ask fro a reference when hiring a helper. Whilst looking for a helper , we verified some information through acquaintances and noticed that a helper who posted on 3rd july said she worked 4 years for one of her employers wich is not true, she worked less than 3 years and was terminated for cheating and theft. This is very unfair to future employers as well as helpers who are trying hard to find a job honestly. Many helpers just put the exact time working for ex employers whether they were terminated or not. Adding skills such as can cook western food etc when not true is also unfair.

It is essential to get a reference, but I would say the only one worth having is a face to face chat with the prveious employer, written or even verbal ones over the phone you can never 100% verify, as some helpers will fabricate these, or get a friend to pose as an employer at the other end of the phone.
