i have a friend who have two house, is it legal?

before she was employed the emloyers lived in one house but after four months the family decided to move to two flats. the employer's husband lives in the other building next to the employer's building. so now, everyday she brings breakfast to her boss and at the same time cleans it up, then back to the main house and clean it up, and her salary is minimum. and she also do some secretarial work for him on the computer, like scanning some paper works and editing.. now, she's in a dilemma whether to quit or carry on with the job. but quitting means paying money to the employer/working with no pay for one month (one month notice case).

call up immigration and ask them , it's the most simple...simpler will be if your friend is not happy she can terminate her contract

Clarification on how to terminate the contract

you give one month's written notice and work for one month and get paid for one month and go.

You quit and leave immediately, then you pay.

Same for the employer if they fire you and want you out of the house that same day they give you one month's salary and you say good bye. Leave immediately, then you pay.

Otherwise they give you one month's written notice.

This is the HK Labour Law

It is not legal to work in two houses. There is no way it ever will be legal, it opens the door to all sorts of mistreatments from employer to emplyee.
