my story is I hired a maid whose passport shown unfinish contract previously, she refused to give me her previously employer contact and lie to me actually was she quit the job.

my nightmare start on, she drunk drive (she had HK driving license); not cooking for my kids without notice me; absense from work without concent me...etc. the most part to make me angry was she ask me to pay her 1mth notice fee while she don't want to stay in my family and she hate us.

everything going mess and poor my kid seems unhappy and start daydream seriously everyday I saw. after a month we fire her as her wish and paid 1 month notice fee!!

Anyways, its a big lesson for me an not to hire any unfinish contract maid. We lost money and everyone of my family even don't want to talk (even my child) about this woman anymore.

But you felt able to post this on here and also Geo despite "not wanting to talk about it". I understand it was tough but by your logic the maid I had to terminate early due to our financial situation shouldn't be hired. It's illogical and unfair. Get references next time!

Movingem, a financial termination is the same as a finished contract.

Berry8219 not all terminated contract helpers are bad apples but you must do your leg work and contact the old employers before you sign on. Every friend of ours who hired out of desperation as they were working and needed a helper, terminated or not, references or not, always had a bad experience. You need to do the leg work and not just go out on a limb and risk your family's safety and peace of mind.
