Strange laundry

My wife found eight brassieres and several pair of pants that were not hers in her underwear drawer. The helper says they are not hers and she doesn't know where they came from. Very strange. We haven't had houseguests in a long while. Not normally suspicious, but could the helper be up to something? Any thoughts?

Does your helper do your washing at home, or is it taken to a laundry? If the latter, then it's possible that your laundry got mixed up with another customers. However, if your helper does the washing and drying at home then she MUST know where the extra underwear has come from, if there are no other women in the house except for her and your wife ... I assume she put it away in your wife's drawer, so she must have got it from somewhere ...


Unless, of course, there's something you're not telling you wife ... men have been know to enjoy wearing ladies undies;-)

How did your helper react when you pointed this out to her? Assuming she is not an Oscar-deserving actress, did you get any suspicion that she knew more than she was letting on? I don't want to accuse your helper if she's genuinely as puzzled as you are about these items' presence but she might have shared duties with another helper - maybe one did both households' laundry (in whose house?!) and they weren't too careful about sorting it afterwards. Careless, at the very least. Is your wife missing any underwear that could be in someone else's drawer? Whatever scenario, it is very odd; I wouldn't be too happy and would want to get to the bottom of it (no pun intended).

Maybe the helper had friends around if you have been on holiday, or away for a weekend, and they left their washing at your home, of course she would never admit to this.

Our ex-helper was taking our best bed linen(hand embroidered) out of our storage cupboards, to use for her friends while we were away once. She washed them, but ruined them, by putting them in a 90C wash! we only found out when I found them in the drawer of another bedroom the day we came home early from a holiday.

The next day,while I went shopping, she put them back in the storage cupboard-on the wrong shelf-as she couldn't reach the high shelf where they had previously been. I think she tried using the ironing board as a step, as this was found in pieces, after I found the linen back on the wrong shelf in the cupboard.

We also found our alarm clock(which we never set), which we kept downstairs set for 6am, probably to get her helper friends up, in time for their work!

When we asked her about all this, she denied ever having anybody stay while we were away, with not a blink of an eye lid! NO Ma'am, I would never do that was her answer. The very strong ironing board she said" broke when it fell over".

Oh! and to top it all, our helper who was female, liked to wear mens under pants, she never wore knickers. Some brand new ones I had bought ready for our sons visit, went missing from the drawer in the room he was to use, we found them still in the packets underneath her bed, with the dust, when she left.

Am curious, Smangum. Did you ever Find out where 8 extra bras came from? Don't just leave us in suspenders!

Hahaha, laugh my knickers off on that one. We never got a confession, and came to the conclusion that our former driver (who was also live-in) maybe had a lady friend while we were away for the summer last year (helper was with us at the time).
