Hi everyone,
we would like to hire a DH and maybe someone has experience already with this ..Which is the best health insurance to take out for a helper which covers cancer? Best coverage not the cheapest. What is the costs for cancer treatment in a public hospital?I have tried to find out by calling public hospitals but noone seems to know the costs.. I know pregnancy is also not covered but how much is a delivery in a public hospital?Hope someone can help me with this Thanks

If you are only thinking of taking on an FDH, why don't you have a medical done before you sign the contract to employ her.
Having a good medical will test for pregnancy, any blood disorders-including simple to cure ones like anaemia, diabetes, thyroid problems, and the less desirable ones like AID's and other STD's. Chest Xray will show any chest problems, TB is on the rise especially amongst people from poorer countries, and is becoming difficult to treat. Urine and 'poo' samples would show up any infection, glucose, and blood which could be just infection or might be something which needs further investigation. Ask you agent for a comprehensive medical, before completing the contract.
If the medical shows up something serious, then you have the option not to sign the contract, then you don't have to take on an FDH who might prove a liability to the health of your family or your purse. If the agent supplies an FDH with unsatisfactory medical, you can refuse to take that particular helper.
Most places that do FDH medicals also offer FDH insurance, also I think HSBC do, or still do an FDH insurance policy, they should have leaflets at the bank.
