Another helper being nasty to mine

Our helper has been with us for just over 2 years and is great. About a year ago she had an argument with one of the other helpers in our, small, block and since then the other helper is constantly causing her trouble and calling her names.

I tried to sort it out a few months ago and couldn't get to the bottom of what started it as they just accused each other of lying. So I asked them both to just leave each other alone. The other helper continued to be difficult so I spoke to the employer who was not interested, he is very busy at work and doesn't want any trouble at home (which is completely understandable).

The problem has come up again now and the other helper has been acusing her of being a prostitute and generally bad mouthing her to other helpers in the street. The poor girl comes home in tears

. Should I talk to the other helper or go back to the employer again? I am at a loss????????

i would suggest to talk to the other helper and threaten her with a defamation law suit which could lead to her losing her job. it's unlikely you would get anywhere with a real lawsuit but the threat itself could work
