Hi,


I am going to hire a new helper. I don't want to use again the services of an agency because it cost me last time $2500 and it was really $$$ throwed to the gargabe because the helper is not working fine for me.

What is the process and more importantly how can I arrange for a medical test?

Thanks Lonely_boy, one last question, how about the medical test? It is important for me, I don't want to hire anyone pregnant or with TBS

The helper is already in HK, she already finished her contract.

I think it is a good idea to have a medical before you sing the final contract papers, we added onto the contract- pending medical, when our last helper to be handed in the papers at IMM.

We arranged for a full medical to be done, with blood tests, urine tests, chest x-ray, etc about a week before her final papers were to be ready at IMM. The results of the medical were sent through to our computer, for us to print off, and were perfectly fine.

The same company also did the maid insurance for us.

If you are going to hire a Filipina helper, you can do it yourself without having to go through an agency.


I was informed that with Indonesian helpers, the Indonesian Consulate will only process papers by agencies. In other words, for hiring Indonesian helpers, you need to go through an agency.

Thank you very much, I will contact that company for the medical test.

Also for the insurance I understand I can transfer the insurance for the current one (soon to be terminated) to my new one.


This is so stressful, I am so worried I'll make the same mistake twice!!!
