Holiday pay question

Hi, not sure what to do here. Basically our helper has asked to go back home for three weeks during summer. We have no problem with that as we will be away as well. She is into her second year of her contract (contract is until June 2015) She already went home at xmas for two weeks and we paid for her flight and gave her her normal salary. Should we still pay her salary while she is away? We are contributing $1000 towards her flight. We had a bit of a fall out and she handed in her resignation but we have since resolved everything, that is when she asked if she can go back home for summer. (when we hired her we said we would pay for a flight home once a year)

Thanks

She's entitled only to 7 days of annual leave per year if this is her first contract. There's no obligation to pay for flights if it's a pure holiday as opposed to relocating to or leaving HK at the beginning or end of the contract.

I suggest to sit down with her and compute together how much she's entitled and how much she's taken already. If she's taken all leave credits during her first flight back home, then you can decide together that she will not be paid her salary while she's away this time. That's fair. Unless of course you feel generous again and pay her anyway.
