I have not understood from the paperwork received at the Labor Dept/website when I pay my helper. To be more specific, her first day or after 30 days? I know that in most positions you get paid after the work is done not in advance. If this sounds uneducated then put in me in my place. Thanks.

We pay a $500 food allowance in advance and wages at the end of the month.

If your helper starts on the 15th then they are due to be paid on the following month. Basically they are paid for the days that they have worked. A lot of people pay their helpers on the 30th of every month. You just need to work out their daily rate then times it by however many days until the end of the month.
