We will be going to Canada for a month and a half this summer. I have a physical disability and would like to bring our PH helper with my daughter and I for 4 weeks. Then once my husband arrives, we will send her back to HK.
I know she requires a visa, but are there any other thins I should be aware of?

nope ... should just have to fill in the visa app forms, supply copy & possibly originals of contract, bank statements, marriage license (i did) adn letter from husband (if he's the employer) stating that she's traveling w you. I also wrote a letter to the consulate myself saying exactly the same things as my husband (the employer). was daunting, but in the end easy enough ... also brought my 3 kids w me to the consulate to hand in the app ... ... had the visa in hand same day. good luck. if all is in order, should be straight forward enough

As b- pointed out, it is normally relatively straightforward. I am submitting an application for our DH today for travel in a couple weeks:)
Our DH has been to Canada for summer vacation a few times. A couple additional things:
- although it is a visitor visa, it permits her working for you during your stay. Thus, your DH is supposed to enter and leave with you.
- I also note in my letter to the Consulate that I, as the employer, am providing medical insuarnce for the duration of her stay.
