Medical Responsibilities

I've just hired my first DH and I believe I am responsible for her medical examination costs but she has to go to the GP (she'll be using ours)I just want to know am I responsible for payment of any prescribed medicines as well as the consultation or is it just the consultation?

Also have taken out insurance but can't find any clause that specifies about reimbursement of medicines prescribed.

ANy advice would be gratefully received.
