Contact details for good Helper Agencies

Found a prospective helper but HK Immi Dept say that she needs to leave HK and re-enter under new visa because she terminated her contract voluntarily (verbally abusive employer but she doesn't want to disclose this).

They say that she will need to process through an agency. I'm not all that happy about this - we've already paid for the medical check and I may deliver 2nd child prematurely (likely to be March 2010) based on 1st child experience - so whole process quite urgent.

If you can please provide me with details on reputable helper processing agency, the costs involved and what those costs covered, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks

I had a helper who was in the same situation as yours, she resigned from her contract and then entered into a new contract with me. You must go through an agent and she must go back home. The process was long, I started the contract procedure in early November and she didn't get back to Hong Kong until January. It took 2 months. This was a few years ago, but I'm not sure if it's quicker now. you may want to consider this, because at first I thought it would take a month, but it did not.

The costs were the same as getting a new helper from the Phillipines ..

Hi Goodre,

I'm in the same situation and would like to know of an agency that can help out.

Asiaxpat Agency cannot help as they do not have a partner in the Philippines to help with the application process.

Can anyone suggest a reputable agency to help process a new contract?

Also, is it necessary to pay the whole fee upfront, or can you tell the agency that you will finish full payment on completion of the whole process?

There are many agencies out there who rip people off and try to charge the helper fees in the Philippines as well. I'm hoping to avoid all this trouble.

Hi,

We used OVERSEAS EMPLOYMENT CENTRE to hire our (local) helper and we were very happy with them, especially for handling all the papers. I was working and I really needed someone as quickly as possible and they did a great job. But again, my helper had finished her contract in HK so she didn't have to go back to the Philippines.

Our contact was Wincy Wong. She was very good.

We paid around 3 000 hkd I think.

Good luck

Hi there,

Thanks for the info!

Fortunately, I just remembered that my colleague's wife also has an agency, so of course I trust that my colleague's wife won't rip me off.

Haven't been to see them yet - going this afternoon - but she told me that the charge for this type of application (providing our papers are all in order) is $3150.

This price includes all the fees - at Phil consulate, at Immigration, it includes air ticket from Manila to HK - basically there are no other fees on top of this. Seems reasonable?
