Emerg Treatment f/ Helper & Employer Liability

Our helper has just informed us that a dental condition she's had for a while is now producing unbearable pain. Any answer to the following would be great:

1. Anyone know of govt solutions for tooth extractions/poss root canal? So far today we been given loads of bogus numbers to call and eventually told to go to a dental clinic on Friday!!!!!

2. Out of interest, as an employer, are we liable for everything or just the emergency part (i.e. tooth extraction)?

Tks,

Did you read the FDH insurance policy you have? As an employer you need to take out insurance for your employee.

Tks for the replies folks.

Was aware of responsibility to provide emergency dental treatment but not sure what that definition includes? Tooth extraction is obvious but what about root canals? That's a personal decision to keep the tooth. It also costs up to HK$4,500 (which isn't the most expensive).

Didn't realise that FDH insurance was compulsory. I'm told that most policies would cover extractions but not much else anyway.

Tks Greenvalleys. I had no idea.

Do you know if you would be required pay for your DH to have root canals or would paying be optional since it wasn't an emergency (certainly more cosmetic than an extraction)?
