I need to know what to do. I terminated my DH with one months notice, but when we got home from work last week, she had packed her bags and gone. I know she's still in HK, and we have to pay her through April plus her ticket. I know she's still in HK because she has been talking to a friends helper.
Should I file a complaint or leave a message telling her if she doesn't get in touch we'll take legal action (her mobile is working, but goes into answer phone) and if so, with whom? I don't want to hurt her future prospects, but at the same time I need to protect myself, not sure what she's up to.

You just need to tell the immigration department that she has left the building and is now living illegally somewhere. She will then have 2 weeks for the date you told them to leave the country - after this time she will be an illegal immigrant.
Make sure all your paperwork is in order as she may be plotting to suck your finances for all the wrongs you may have done to her while she was employed by you.

I have receipts for her salary for every month she's been with us except for this month cause she's vanished. Should I pay her after the date she dissappeared? I also was buying her ticket out, but again, cannot settle because of she absconded.
Not sure what else she can try and get???

It might also be worth talking to the labour department as well to see where you stand in terms of the air ticket. As many DH in HK get so much legal help from their church etc and it doesn't sound too good if she is ignoring your phone calls. She may be trying to cause trouble and say you never bought her the ticket. Just like TC mentioned, explain everything that has happened and that you didn't get the chance to give the ticket to your helper as she suddenly disappeared and see what you can do.
Good luck.

Thanks so much everyone. This thread has been very very helpful.
Well, I finally got in touch with her. Got her home and settled everything. We are paying for her ticket and allowance etc etc, so I basically got her to sign off on everything and leave at the end of the month. Personally I don't care whether she returns or not.
I am saving all of these templates, thanks much Mrs. Miggins!

Concerned38, what happened to your helper? Was there a good reason for her absence? If not, why are you being so accomodating?

She freaked out and went crazy in the head, and she's been getting bad advice from all the people she hangs out with. I never realised what a big deal terminating a contract mid-way would be!! It's just that my needs changed and I needed someone with much higher skillsets. She said that nobody would employ her now because of the mid-contract termination etc etc etc, and that she wasnt thinking straight. So I guess I'm being accommodating cause I don't want to ruin her life and also I don't need the stress right now of doing anything else besides getting rid of her and getting a new helper on board. I've put in papers for the new helper...
