Hello - Can anyone confirm that the luggage allowance is 35kgs when you buy a helpers fare ticket?

The website suggest it is (i.e. says 10 extra kgs on top of normal allowance?)

Thanks!

Some carriers do weigh them.

The overhead bins can take pretty much what people manage to load in them. No way a jet airliner will be overloaded from carry-on bags. On smaller aircraft the concern is center of gravity too far aft or forward. However weight and balance is calculated before every flight so not an issue.

Thats not true, when I went home last December 2010 and my plane is Cathay my luggage was 31 kgs. and I was overload! I thought that some people said it was 25 kgs and an allowance to 30 kgs.But when they kilo my luggage the crew said its just 20 kgs only and they will accept the allowance until 23 kgs. So 8 kgs extra I paid $220 on it.
