anyone done this and what do we need to do re visas and how long does it take?

Just booked our summer vacation back to the UK and our helper is coming with us for the 5 weeks that we are over. You need to print off the forms from the British Consulate web-site (very self explanatory) VAF1 I think and also the relevant forms from the Domestic Helper page on their site, write a supporting letter, provide your own bank statement and they then go and get the paperwork processed. Our helper got hers the same day but she's been to the UK before - I think currently it takes 3 days for the paperwork to be processed. Really, really easy.
