I would like to know what I am required to pay by Hong Kong law for my DH ?

Levy ?

Insurance ?

Immigration papers ?


Also I would like suggestions on what extras are customary to pay.

You need to also pay for a R/T ticket from and to her place of origin.

The employer has to bear the following costs for hiring a maid.

Levy - HK$2400 for every 6 months

Visa fee - HK$160

Consulate fee

Body Check fee

Employee's Insurance

A round trip ticket


During her servicing period, you also have to pay her medical expenses.

SHAKIRA all helpers has to pass medical test before they could leave the country. It is one of the requirements. Now, if you want her to have another one when she arrives ( to be sure that she is a healthy as her medical records said) by all means do, but you have to pay for it. ( Basic is just around $500.)

I am currently employing a dh and arranging medical. I would like to know are there specific requirements for a dh medical check-up ie. is there a list of things we should request to be checked?
