Hello,
How much is a full time domestic helper, staying at our place?
Any specific recommendation, what to pay particular attention to?
Thanks

hi, look at immigration website - min legal payment is something like $3,800 and if you give her food allowance (so she does not eat with you) min is $300 I think. It will also depend on a helper you are hiring, if she very good and has been with a family for a while, she is likely to be on more than that - for example we pay ours $6,000 pm ($5,000 wages and $1,000 food allowance, as I cant see how one can live for a month on $300). But I think this is as high as one goes in pay...

min wage is HK$3480 but you also need to pay an additional HK$400pm to the hk gov for a 'retraining levy' which is the biggest load of tosh i've heard. it's just a tax we pay the gov to have a maid. if you prefer the maid to pay for her own food then you include a food allowance on top - general concensus seems to be HK$300 - 500pm. again, it all depends on the employer - some maids get paid well over the minimum, some barely the minimum.
