Can DH get U.S. visa to go w/us for holiday?

Hi - we are planning a trip hopefully to the U.S. next summer with 5-year old and 6 week old newborn (due in May). We want/need our helper to join us as my husband won't be w/us the entire time due to work obligations. Essentially we want to somewhere for cooler weather, CLEAN AIR, and beaches, and no language issues. The west coast of the U.S. has some marvelous small coastal towns, but per the US consulate site, it's nearly impossible for DH's to obtain tourist visas to accompany employers. So the situation is we want to book air and hotel now to get cheaper rates, but don't want to if our DH cannot go w/ us.

If the U.S. is out of the question from the tourist visa standpoint, what other countries do you know of that will easily allow Philippino's in for 30 days? We are not so keen on Asia....need a break from the region. Appreciate any ideas!! Thanks!!

UK and Austria/ Germany seem to be very straight forward.

I know it's more difficult to get to the states, but not impossible.

You can go to their website, they have all the informations and you can fill the forms through online then print it out for your helperto bring for her interview at the us consulate and other documents with your strong supporting letter why you need her to come along with you. I had applied once and I was granted 2yrs visa, but it does not mean your helper too will be given visa right away, some had to apply more than once before they be given visa. On my experience, Best to book time interview is thier earliest time in the morning before they get exousted with the rest of the applicants.

Australia and most parts of Europe are more open for tourist visa for helpers.

A Visa fee must be pain in a bank even before you could make an appointment to submit your application. The website lists all the requirements . There is an emphasis on the fact that the helper's application is NOT the same as the employer and will be reviewed accordingly.

I applied, and was given but only after I showed them my financial capacity in addition to the support letter given to me by my employer. My HK ( businessvantage multi currency account-- Sterling, US, Australian $, EU) ) and Peso account were not substantial. It was only after I submitted my UK HSBC account and Halifax trading account-- 12 months statement- that my application was approved.

I must say I was meant to travel on my own, not with my employer. Bottom line is, it's difficult but it can be done.
