Payment upon termination

I will fire my DH without 1 month notice. The agent will come to my apartment, the DH will be informed and asked to pack her things, we'll sign all the documents and the agent will take her away. There is no other way to do it as both my husband and I work full time, and she is in charge of a 1yo child.

This is the agent's quotation:

1. salary up to date (4K)

2. one salary in lieu (4K)

3. holidays (1.5K)

4. airticket (2.7K)

5. travel allowance (150)

6. agent fee (500)

Is it all right? Has anyone done it before? Can a DH become revengeful?

Please do not comment on the fact that I'll not give a notice as I do feel bad about it but my kid's safety is more important.

Your 4000 is above the monthly legal requirement for HK law. Also the airticket is too high, it should be about 1000-1500, your quote is more for a round trip.

Most agencies include all of this estra fee within the entire scope of thieir fees and not extra.

Remember to buy an open ticket or to give cash in leiu since the DH has a legal right to stay 2 weeks beyond the last day of her contract with you. Make sure you get signatures on showonig the amounts you pay, and also to send in a letter to HKIMD stating the last date the DH was in your service. This is required by law and you can just fax it to them. Is this what you are paying the Agency for? No need, go to the website and there is a copy for you to use, along with detailed instructions that will take not longer than one hour.

If you are really concerned, stay in the house when the girl packs up her things and see her to the door, have her return all her keys and etc.

Good luck
