i have a helper who occasionally serves our food with hair which is for me is unacceptable. we've bought her a hair net (2 types) and go through the proper process of washing the food and maintaining a clean sink, working area and over all the kitchen.
taking over the task from her right now is not an option and as much as possible i dont want to fire the person.
i talked to her several times, mostly i am calm at times i am angry to let her know that it is unacceptable. but it still happens.
can anyone share similar incidents in their household that lead to this problem and has anyone there allowed food served with hair ? how did you help your maid solve it?
please ... constructive and non emotional suggestions only.

Perhaps you need to sit her down again and explain to her, that hair in food is un-hygeinic, and if you swallowed it accidently could at the worst cause choaking.
If this thing happened in a public outlet ie restaurant, cake shop, I am sure the staff would be warned. If you have previously told your helper about his, well maybe it is time for a written warning, so she knows you are serious and will fire her if it happens again.

how often is this occurring? once a week? twice a week??
i don't think you should allow "hairy food". when i cook for my family, once in a blue moon a piece of hair slips in, but on a regular occurance, it is not acceptable.
why don't you ask your helper what she thinks she can do to have the hair stop falling into the food? besides hairnets, what about a headband? get her suggestion, let her feel like not only is she the problem, but you would like her to be part of the solution.
(as well, the next time you find a strand of hair in your food, let her see it).
another thought, if she is losing hair regularly, there could be something medically wrong with her such as her thyroid. has she had a checkup lately???

there are times when things happen 2x in a week! my family don't eat the food once we found out that there's hair. i've had helpers before and it never happened with them and with this one it becomes a regular occurance. with her less than 2 yrs stay i think i can recall 5x i have to confront her abt the hair issue. she said she's been very careful already but cant figure out how the hair escapes even w the hair net n place. a final warning has been given to her by my husband. and hope she can cope until the end of her contract.

Perhaps the hair is coming from her clothes - you know when the hair falls out, it usually sits on your clothes before it falls to the floor or in the food. Try those sticky roller thingys that you roll on your clothes to remove dust, lint and hair. I think you can buy in IKEA.
But hair in your food...........thats nasty!!
