About 6-8 months ago there was an article in SCMP that there is a lady (I believe in Repulse Bay) that helps professionally train domestic helpers. Does anyone here know of this service, as we would like to get our new helper trained when she comes into HK.

Sorry I'm not really answering your question directly as I don't know of the service you mentioned above. However, I know that the YMCA offers some excellent courses for helpers which cover a range of topics from cooking through first aid, hygiene, etc. You can look at the courses and all the other details on their website.

There is a french lady in RP that does this.
It's once a month, on Tuesdays afternoon (2-4pm).
Next sessions : Feb 22, March 15, April 12, May 10, June 7th
Price for 5 sessions : 250HKD
10 to 12 helpers max per session, on the first arrived first served basis

There is also a Filippina woman who does training in Tagalog and English in Deepwater Bay(near Repulse Bay). Her name is Gloria and the website is www.superhelper.goldphoria.com. I will probably be signing our helper up for a course; it sounds great.
