helper in UK going back to work in HK?

We are hoping to take our helper back with us when we move back to the UK ( she has been with us for over a year). However she is worried if she breaks her HK contract with us and is on a UK visa and things don’t work out she will not be able to get back into HK for work. Is this true? Will she not just have to re apply from the Philippines? Also she is worried as she is 50 and thinks she may be too old for the HK consulate to let her back into Hong Kong? There is no age cap is there?

It would be wise to contact the Immigration, Labour departments and also the Philippines Consulate for the most up-to-date answers if you want to put your helper's mind at ease. Her fears and worries are justified due to her age as it would be hard for her to turn back if things doesn't work out in UK.

It would be advisable to contact the British Consulate for advice as it is my understanding that you helper will not get a visa let alone a work visa for the UK unless she has been in your employ for a min of 2 yrs - relatively new ruling.

i called the phil consulate and HK immigration and they said there was no maximujm age limit. What do you mean by "if applying through agency in the Phils. is over 40.".

would she just not reapply just like it was the end of her contract and have to go back to the phil and then apply again? thanks

If your helper is nervous about going to UK perhaps it would be better for you to find someone local when you get there. It would save all the worry ,expense etc for both parties. as You would have to apply local laws to your helpers employment in UK there is very little benefit in taking her with you.
