We want to get a helper that will need to break her current contract to then come work for us.
Does she have to give 1 months notice and stay working there or can she just resign and pay her current employer 1 months salary and leave right away?
any help is much appreciated.

Either way is ok.
Some employers want the helper to process immediately, pays the 1 month salary in lieu of the 1 month notice FOR the helper to the present employer.
Your helper will have to return home until visa is processed.

She is such a good helper i dont mind waiting for her to start, I just dont want her to be stuck working like a dog for the last month. I would rather she could just resign pay the months salary to the employer and then just leave.
thanks.

I have a similar situation. I was just wondering if the helper gives notice and works the one month notice, can we still start processing her papers during the notice period? Also since she is terminated, how long will it take to process through immigration? I do realize that she will have to go back to the Phillipines. Thanks for any help.
