I found my maid hiding someone inside her room the other night when she walked my dog, i was so angry and gave her a warning letter. I didn't ask her to leave right away because I didn't want to send my dog to the boarding house for two months to wait for another maid on board.
Her contract will be expired the end of next month, I don't know if i should release her immediately when the contract ends or by giving one month notice. Anyone here can give me some advices??? Any procedures which I have to follow???

A terrible experience indeed.
World War Two seems trivial compared with the experience you have just been through.

I have had such a dilemma. I have three dogs to be taken care of and have no choice except to tolerate and wait until the next one comes or we (and the dogs) will be the ones to suffer. It's hard to find a reliable helper but I still believe there are good ones out there - all depends on our luck.

I went into her room to get a cleaned towel and heard some radio noise coming from the window so I went closer to open the curtain, then I found the person hiding herself behind the curtain, holding the phone with other side on that's way I heard some noise from there.

excited..i think muquet had the right to feel the way she did..obviously you have either never hired a maid or you don't own anything..or have kids....orelse you would feel the same....muquet....i think what you should do is first of all hide all te valuable stuff..and give her the notice of termination...during that..find a new helper....remember the ones with experience are not necessarily better.....cause they know too many people....

Got to agree; I would be shocked to find someone living uninvited in our home. Sure, our personal belongings are here, but they can be replaced, what about the children? I would terminate immediately for such a huge breach of trust but moreover, for such disregard for our safety.

Hang on, who said this person was "living" there? We only know she was "hiding". I just assumed it was a friend of the DH who had popped round for an hour against "house rules". Jolly naughty, but hardly something you would ship her off to Guantanamo Bay for.
Either way, as terrible experiences go, it pales beside the experience of a co-worker who last month went home with a migraine at lunchtime only to find her hubby and DH frantically putting their clothes back on in her bedroom....

Thank you everyone. After all, I've decided not to renew her contract but I have to find another DH by the end of next month.
