I have been approached by a Filipina (friend of other Filipina I know well and trust)who watns to work for me. She is 6 months into her 3rd contract with a family with whom she says she has no problems, but the work is getting to be too much for her (lots of small kids) and she'd like a change. She wants to quit, giving one month's notice, after which she says I can start the process of hiring her, using an agency. I understand she will have to go back home to wait for the papers to be processed and she reckons it will take about 8 weeks. Does this seem right? Any comments or suggestions? Thanks

I've just hired an Indonesian maid who was no longer required by her employer due to financial difficulties. We used her for a couple of days before I made the decision to sign the employment contract. The maid is required to leave HK hence the agency has made arrangements for her to stay in China for 2-3 weeks whilst the papers are being processed.
Maybe you can ask your agency to see if they have this kind of arrangement - at least you do not have to wait the 8 weeks processing time which can be very long if you are in need of a maid.

I have go To Imigration to get the paper contrack than go to Phil Consulate just wait for tree days.and spen only$ 298.and remmember bring you addrress bill and your Income the consulate need it.and you can buy for ticket voucher for pic up the contrack from phil consulate .you just go to Word Wide Plaza In Central only $100.
than after finis you can to Imgartion to put your dokoment just wait for 3 weeks no need 8 weeks.

It took us 8.5 weeks to hire a helper who resigned... She just arrived yesterday!
