My DH told me on Sunday that all DH's will receive a pay rise as of April. Is this true? where do I find out if it is?

Hi, I think your helper heard this news on the grapevine. There had been talks of a salary increase for DHs but it has not yet been confirmed. Should there be any concrete and clear guidelines about this, you will surely hear this firsthand on the local news because salary increase is implemented by the HK government. I suggest you tell your helper to be careful of irresponsible media in her community she might have picked up the news from...because I think I know where she got that (ask her where she got the news). My helper heard it too. Good luck!

If the salaries go up/or down they are usually not retroactive, it would apply to all new contracts signed and that would be cleary marked int he paperwork that you will receive from immigration when processing the helpers papers.

They raise it not long ago from $ 3370.00 didn't they? Now it's $3420.00
I heare Singapore is trying to set a minimum salary for DH there. I didn't hear anything about HK.

I have a new contract, just approve by immigration this week, salary on it is 3400 with a 300 food allowance.
We just submitted a second application (not approved yet), with the same salary and food allowance.

I just got my helpers visa last friday and she has just joined us.
anyways the salary is 3400 honkies and if you do not provide food for her you have to pay an additional 300 honkies, however if she is eating the same food as you are you have to only pay 3400. this is the government stipulated rate anything below this is illegal, anything over this is welcome if you can afford it.
ther is the additional 400 that every employer has to pay the government as Levy per manth payable as lumpsun or every 6 months.
any increase in DH salaries is only applicable to new contracts not to existing ones.
