can someone tell me how to bring my DH to the States for a few weeks (2-3 weeks)? I've checked the U.S. consultate website and called them but they're very nonspecific and unhelpful. Do I need to apply for a visitors visa for her? How long is the process? After they approve the visa, do we have a small window of time to leave for the U.S.?

I don't know if you are aware but many helpers when you bring them to USA or Europe they will run away.....

this not only to warn you that you will have your holiday ruin but you will have so much trouble with the local authorities since you are the one who guarantees for the visa.

If you are still interested. IF you plan to take your helper to the US to work during your visit. She will need a temporary work visa from the US consulate. You will be required to pay her US wages during her time in the US and also she will only have to work 8 hours a day or get overtime, per US employment law.

It is not easy to get a visa.

You can check to US Consulate,I think they just need some proof and make that your DH wont run away after arriving the USA.If it is only for few weeks then there's no need to get a working visa all she she is a visitors visa that will be supported by you.
