Stock Investment, is it recommendable for OFWs particularly Domestic Helpers?

You mean should they invest in stocks? Well, sure. Everyone should. In the long run, stocks tend to give the highest return. But the issue of how and how much is complex, especially given the small disposable income.
Perhaps it's simpler if an OFW simply invests in a fund with a guaranteed return and low management costs.

Depends. With the going rate, it is almost next to impossible for a domestic worker to set aside money to invest in stock. Most would rather invest in buying properties and perhaps land for farming.
However, I do have a little ( almost negligible :}) investment in stock ( communication company) and exploring a 20K ( start up) investment with a growing health company based in the Philippines but has a wide market in HK.
Investment is ALWAYS good, but right now a lot would think otherwise. Not only of the depreciation of HK$ towards Pesos but also a lot among domestic helpers got burned from investment offered by certain people/companies and they ended up losing-- in short, the promise of a return made some careless and did not read the fine prints. And the bigger culprit is that a helper's vulnerability and innocence ( reads ignorance) made them ( us) the easy target for the piranhas in suits.

Thank you so much for your responses. I think you may gain a lot in the stock market, but you may also lose a lot. Don't put all your savings in stocks. Diversify your earnings. Select the best company to invest in. Search about the company, you must look for details, the reputation, rate of their productivity etc.

The way to do it if you want to lower risk is, as Jctom says, to diversify. Don't go for one stock. Go for a fund that invests in stocks. A lot of funds aim for a certain risk level. That way you can choose a risk level you are comfortable with without having to figure it all out yourself.
