Why don't you ask the helper herself. She also needs to go through an agency so just use hers and see how much the agency charges.

Whatever you do be careful. I am having an absolute nightmare with AsiaOne. I interviewed a potential helper on the phone (she is in Indonesia) and was told after the interview to put a deposit down or else they would let other potential employers hire her. I could not commit at the time as my husband (who was not free for the first interview) would want to interview the helper too as he was concerned about the standard of English for Indonesian helpers and I told them this. They said they understood and I paid the deposit on the basis I could get my money back if it didn't work out. Fortunately I was on the second call when my husband was interviewing the helper because they had one of their staff on the phone pretending to be the helper! I was really shocked that the level of English was suddenly so good and the answers to some basic questions (such as how old her sisters were) were different from the first interview. I immediately questioned the person on the end of the line and the agency and they confirmed that it was the same person. They have now admitted it was someone else but are refusing to refund my money on the basis that we have had the opportunity to telephone interview the maid and the best they can do is allow me to interview the maid again and would only refund my money if the person on the line is different again!! How shocking.
