Is it true that the Philipines Consulate in HK will no longer process Direct Hire and we have to go through an agency?

Yes, i read that too...the thing is that you never know with the consulates - they implement something and then before you know it, it's changed again...all without updating the website

The consulate has begun requiring all contracts to be entered into a computer program called POLO. So hand written contracts will become a thing of the past round about 1 June. The agencies can enter everything from their own offices/computers using their own password, but I think (but don't know for sure) individuals who wish to direct hire can go to consulate to process, BUT will need to enter all the information by the computer at the consulate.

If everyone complains loudly enough, the consulate will often change their mind as they has done many times prviously.
