can anyone tell me what hollidays we should pay our helpers and those we dont have to thanks

Q1. What are the statutory holidays?

A1. An employee is entitled to the following 12 statutory holidays -

the first day of January;

Lunar New Year's Day;

the second day of Lunar New Year;

the third day of Lunar New Year;

Ching Ming Festival;

the first day of May;

Tuen Ng Festival;

the day following the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival;

Chung Yeung Festival;

Chinese Winter Solstice Festival or Christmas Day (at the option of the employer);

the first day of July; and

the first day of October.

After 3 months you have to pay for all statutory holidays plus the holidays she is entitled too as per contract. We give ours all the same holidays that my husband recives which is all public holidays.

agree with Moppet - we give them all public holidays not just statutory - I think there are the 12 statutory hols plus another 5 or so - Easter, Chrismas, May 12 (this year)... Those 5 are up to you of course, you dont have to give them off. We also give our helpers 2-3 wks a year off to go home, tho you only owe her 7 days in first year and 7 in second.
