First time hiring a DH - returning to PI, how does it work?

We are hiring a DH for the first time. I have interviewed 2 people that have been referred through friends and am still working on a decision. Both of them have finished their contracts (or will finish in next two weeks) and I'm not sure how it works with them having to return to Philippines. Both have said they dont want to go back now, and want to start work straight away. Knowing it will take 4-6 weeks (maybe more) to get their new visas processed, do they have to return to PI in the interim? And should the costs of the trip back to PI be covered by their previous employer, by the DH or by us? And finally, am I mad to make a decision based on only two candidates? I've searched through previous threads but cant quite decipher the answers to all my questions.

I agree with Cara - I would add that it might be useful to interview some more. If you are still indecisive maybe you just dont have that gut feeling for them. I have hired a lovely lady and just knew right away she was the one. I interviewed her and let her know that evening after interviewing another 4 the same day.
