My prospective helper will be terminated for financial reasons, what are the processing involved? is it true that she doesn't need to go back to Philippines to wait for her visa? and we just have to wait for ONE MONTH, or it will still be 6-8 weeks. She said she has friend who had this case and was able to get the visa fast.

About one month is right, we are going to employ a lady who's last employers left HK, from handing the papers in at Immigration, until her appointment on 21st No, is three weeks, then the Phils con takes another 4-7 days.
They are usually allowed to stay in Hk if they ahve had their contract terminated through no fault of theirs, and must not go to eg Macau or mainland China using their passport in the meantime otherwise it will invalidate them being allowed to stay in HK

I recently hired and tried to hire someone who was terminated. Immigration told me she had to go back to the Phillipines, even tho she had a letter from her employer etc stating the reason was not hers. I did ask for her return on an urgent basis and she was brought back in 4 weeks.
Just a point to note, this reason 'termination for financial reasons' seems to be the most common excuse amongst helpers for why they were terminated. I got this reason many times during interviews and bizarrely enough my friend just interviewed helpers last week and this reason again was used by many for their termination. Perhaps there is more to check out!
