I am leaving HK permanently in a few months and wanted to help my Indonesian DH find another position. By the time I go, she will have worked about 18 mnths of her contract.
I have a friend who is willing to employ her, but can anyone advise if she has to leave HK or go back to Indonesia for Visa purposes as technically, it is a change of contract not a completion.
I'm willing to do all I can to help but I don't think my friend will be able to wait 4 - 6 weeks for my helper. Also, if she goes back to Indonesia there will be the issue of her having to pay an agency (again).
Any helpful suggestions would certainly be appreciated.

Hi there,
Your Indonesian helper doesn't need to go back to her country. The immigration will consider her application. It takes about 3 weeks or so for the visa approval.

Hi Eva
That sounds great. So, we can submit the paperwork early so my DH can finish working for me and start working for my friend more or less straight away ?? (She has already told me that she doesn't want a break or to go back to Indonesia).
Do you know of any agency who can help with the paperwork. I know we have to go through an agency as the Indonesian Consulate insists. I spoke to an agency this morning who completely confused me - that's why I thought there might be a problem with this.
Thanks for your help.
