FDH Hired in HK - Logistics for Leave etc

Hi there, we hired our FDH via Asiaxpat website (interviewing ourselves) in March. She was able to work for us immediately post her previous employer due to their financial status so even though we gave her the option, she opted to stay in HK instead of going back to the Phils.

I understand that she is entitled to 7 days leave after 12 months, does this mean we have to pay for her ticket to the Phils? how about when her contract finishes in two years (we definitely plan to keep her as she's been great but just wondering how the logistics work as the main reason we hired a FDH is to taking care of our baby).

We are flexible either way, just wondering what the norm is. thanks.

If she never went back she will have to return home within the first year of contract. She should have payment from her old employer for half of this and you are responsible for the other half. This is the law.

And, if she doesn't want to go home to the PH, she can go to Maau or China or wherever she wishes. My neighbours helper hasn't been home in 7 years, she just exits HK for a couple days
