My DH does not have her own DVD & she only has full control of our DVD when it comes to controlling the amount of stuff the kids can see.

Do you mean DVD player or DVD's themselves?
If she has her own DVD player, I'd be ok with her borrowing DVDs (as long as they were returned to the shelves immediately afterwards).
If she is using the household DVD player, then only access when appropriate & when I'm not around.

I think mine has one as she has asked to borrow films occassionally, but not certain as I never go in her room. If she has she brought it herself.

We bought our helper stereo, dvd player and got her tv access in her room. She is able to use all our vcd's, cd's, dvd's and any books that she wants to use. When we are away she uses the dvd/tv in the main living area.

Our helper already had a dvd player, never asks to borrow films although she is always buying vcd's for our kids. Moving tomorrow and her room is going to be very small so am going to suggest that since the quarters and utility area are so very small that she takes the opportunity to watch tv and iron in the main room while I am out at work, or in the spare room/study/kids tv room at night. Otherwise will see if we can get her very small wall mounted flat screen with dvd player inclusive to use as the room really is tiny!
