Very Confused in Clear Water Bay...

We recently moved to Clear Water Bay and have been using this site to invite people for interviews - but 60% to 70% of the people don't ever show up as we seem to be too far away for most people...

We are actually about 5 mins from Hang Hau MTR and in a great area compared to the over crowding in many places and so have been looking for agencies that deal with CWB or Sai Kung - any advice on how you find a helper in this area?

Hi

Well, it counts for FDH´s as for all other groups of people; some are reliable and some are not. And abviously it is very annoying to have an appointment which is later cancelled or ignored.

As for reasons; there could be many - very often the potential helpers are already in job and find it hard to get "out" to meet for interview - especially if you make appointment on a week night.

Also, Clearwater Bay might be a completely new experience and they might not feel safe to take the journey into a remote village (if thats where you live) by themselves.

I dont say this to exuse the potential helpers that you have been in contact with - in my world there is (almost) never a good exuse for blowing people off/letting people down

I am just saying this to give you the "other side of the story" and since I tried the same situation as you; and also been living in village in Clearwater bay.

Solution:

Offer the potential new helper to meet in Pacific coffee in Eastpoint City (near the MTR) or any other similar location.

It might feel more comfortable for both parties and at least make it easier to access by puclic transportation.

At a 2nd meeting you can make appointment at home if you feel like it.

Personally I used this site to find potential helpers and arranged interviews by myself. Another option is ofcourse to use one of the many agencies out there and do the interviews at the agency offices directly.

Thanks pepe77 for the comments. The question I have is really who are the agencies I should be going to as they all seem to be in other parts of HK?

Cara,

Thanks for the reply - but do you have the contact of the agency as this is the link I am desperately missing as I can't find an agency in Sai Kung?
