Our helper just resigned due to a personal situation at home. Since she cannot commit to returning, we are not inclined to offer her an open ended leave. On the other hand, we have cut down her required notice period and we also want her to have the option of returning to HK on a non-budget-busting basis.
I've heard stories of helpers paying several months' salary to brokers to get to HK. Does this only apply to first-time helpers? Does a former helper who has completed a couple of contracts and has no red marks on her immigration record need to pay any special fees to get back to HK (if she were able to find an employer from the Phils)?
What are the consequences for her to break a contract prematurely?
Thanks
