I may be forced to terminate a contract with my helper. My company is relocating me after only 6 months in HK. Does anybody know what are financial consequences for me if I terminate the contract after only 6 month employment?

No consequences for you at all. You just need to give her one month's notice, otherwise you have to give her one month's pay in lieu of notice. As you're being relocated out of HK, your helper can find another employer and can go straight to another job without exiting HK. You just need to write a formal letter to Immigration (copy to your helper) stating the following:
1. Helper's full-name
2. Helper's Contract Number
3. Helper's HKID
4. Date helper is leaving your employment and home.
5. Reason for terminating helper.
6. Any other comments you want to make about your helper in order to help her in getting another job (or to warn prospective employers).
7. List an itemised account of severence payments made eg. air fare, one month's pay in lieu of notice, etc.
Make sure your helper also signs the letter to confirm that she acknowledges all of the above.
Fax the letter to Immigration 1 or 2 days before your helper leaves your home so that whatever she does as soon as she's left is no longer your responsibility.

Thanks for your detailed and , indeed, very helpful suggestions. I am only leaving in June and I cannot say that my helper is good with kids. She fails in building a good contact with them. However, they do not speak English and it takes time to learn how to communicate.
