My helper is leaving at the end of her contract, at her request, apparently to go back to the Philippines for a few months! Anyway, she has asked me for a release letter, which immigration have apparently asked for. I have given her a reference, but she claims to also need this release letter. I am unclear as to why this is necessary as I am not releasing her, she is finishing at the end of her contract, of her own free will. Been waiting on the phone to Labour Department and Immigration for ages, so just thought if anyone had any knowledge of this requirement, or what I actually need to state if a letter is necessary, I would be grateful. Thanks.

Yes, my helper had to have a release letter from her previous employer so we could process her papers. She was finishing a contract as well.
