Hi

Have a helper that has been with us for 5 months, she needs to go home to the phillipines for a few weeks.

Does anyone know what paperwork is involved? Any requirements / approvals required from immigration? Cant find anything on the web...

Thanks

Kahli

I would speak to, or email immigration about "a few weeks" home leave after only working for you for 5 months. Reason being that some how it needs to be documented officially, as FDH's have been known to overstay on permitted leave or never come back.

I'm not sure about the amount you would still have to pay her if she was away a few weeks, you may not have to pay her full wage, and she may not be entitled to any air fare at this stage of employment, but Imm would clarify this for you, preferably in writing.

If out of the ordinary leave is given and officially documented, then there will be no disputes about holidays due or wages due in the future.

Yeah susie is right

And according to the law

If a helpers gives on a vacation

They will leave a month salary in case they will not return, they will get that only when they come back.

Her vacation leave actually depends on what you decide

Not your helper
