Well, as you said her visa expires 14th Aug which means she is allowed to stay in Hong Kong until it expires. Meanwhile, she is waiting for her new visa. Either she can stay in the boarding house but reading between your lines : you can ask her if she wants to stay with you in your house until the visa is granted. Of course, legally she shld not work for you but she might want to help you as a 'friend' during that waiting period, and you might as well wl like to thank her for being helpful by offering some 'rewards'. Just a word of warning. Even though she will be staying at your house as a "friend", it would be inevitable that she will want to help out (trying to inpress). Make sure you are covered insurance wise in case anything happens and also what happens if you decided in that space of time, this helper is not what you are looking for.

Sorry if I am not being very helpful but having been a good employer to my previous helper and offering tons of help for her to find future employment, it is all coming back to haunt me.
