My helper does her work well, but her attitude is very bad expecially towards to corrections and when she is sad for whatever reasons.
I try to talk to her about it few times but things has not improved, sometimes when I talked to her she doesn't look at me when answering or answer with a very soft tone that I can hardly hear.
Within one week, she broke our water purifier, dropped my new blouse downstairs and all she said was " sorry mam" and walked away.
I know I've been very gracious, kind and merciful with her more even moren than what I have give to my kids but I feel she is now taking me for granted .
When it comes to my children, whatever she told me about them I usually believe her instead of them because I am a firm/stick mom and don't tolorate kids being naught or disrespectful to any.
I talked to her about been more careful with my things two nights ago and was surprised when I got home yesterday my daughter told me that she found a bone in her food and she told the helper that next time she should be more careful b/c once she swollowed a bone when she was a baby and had to throw it up so the helpers reponse to her was "so go throw it up again" and walked away.
They also told me that when I'm not there, she have them do the work, like putting away their things and pulling them and shouts at them loudly most times and even ignore them by reading her books if they need somethings especially if she is angry at them .
Don't get me wrong, I gave her certain control over them as I strongly believe in disciplining children but they said she she treats them differently when I'm not around and is the opposite when I there. They even said "we are afraid to tell anything b/c you always believe her" but now after this I started to think she might be abusing the power that I gave her towards my children.
Of course I want her to be firm with them and discipline when necessary but not for them to be scare of her. So I asked her last night if what they are saying is true and she tries to avoid some questions and say she does'st remember some.
I asked her if she will be able to change her attitude and be a bit more gentle with the kids but she said its better if she go home which is fine with me. Now she wants to give one month's notice then leave but I'm not sure if she should write the termination letter or I do and who should sign it? Also, what should be written in this kind of letter?
Any feedback will be very much appreciated.

If you want to fire her, you should be the one to write the termination letter and inform the Immigration department within 7 days. Since she said she'll give you a month's notice, all you have to do is to inform the Immigration Dept. ( we used to do it by mail) of the date it will take effect and a copy of the letter that your helper will give you - the one month notice.
You could give your helper a reference letter for future employment purposes, if you want.

That's right. If she has 'resigned' then you are not terminating her, and hence no termination letter required. But you are still required to inform Immigration within 7 days of her final day of working for you.

Hi,
Doesn't this mean she is the one who is terminating her contract?

Yes, she is the one who will be terminating the contract. Let her put it in writing.

If she wants to terminate the contract, she must give you one month notice. If she wants to leave immediately , she have to pay you one month salary. However, in this situation, just ask her to write the letter and ask her to leave at once. Make sure you ask her to sign all the holidays, salrary etc .
