Hi,
My DH has a visa which says she's permitted to remain until 26 October 2006 or two weeks after termination of contract, whichever is earlier.
She said she can have it renewed quite easily.
She's supposed to be with me for 24 months and started only on the 15 of April 2006.
I'm just wondering, does her contract end on the 26th of October 2006 or on the 15th of March 2007? I'm not planning to renew it.

Her contract expires on the date stipulated in the contract. The standard contract term in HK is 2 years. There is no alternative. The earlier visa expiry date has been based on a previous event, and the helper should apply for an extension which should be granted unless there is something in her file to the contrary. I suggest you contact Immigration direct and clarify things with them - they are always very helpful. It sounds to me like maybe she didn't go home before she started her contract with you, and 26/10/2006 is the time by which she is supposed to go home.
