We have a great helper who we hope stays with us for a while. She has been with us for two years and was due to go home in December. She does not want to go home for personal reasons...Her visa expires mid December..
What are my options?

Thank you. She has already applied for extension of stay once when her first contract expired. She's coming up to her two year and we will be again renewing. Instead of doing the home leave I wonder if she can go to Macau to get her visa stamped.

Curios, as she is a end of contract and renewal she doesn't have to go home. Yes, she can get her visa stamped in Macau. I am not sure though of the timing for her return home, I have a helper in a similar situation and she is now coming to her 2 years with us and has not gone home between her last employer and us, and has been to Macau at least once I know of to stamp her visa

Your helper with your consent can apply for a waiver of her home leave for up to 1 year from the end of her contract. After that waiver is up he/she MUST return to his/her place of ORIGIN so unless she is originally from Macau I fail to see how her going there for a couple of weeks fulfils the requirement????? It is all clearly written down in the guidebook for employing a domestic helper on the Imm Website.
