boarding house

About to get our first DH and living in an area where most DH's are not from Phillipines. Would like to prepare a soft and comfortable landing for her, as we don't know if she is familiar with facilities in HK. So, would like to know what exactly is "boarding house"? and where if possible to get a list of places.

Thanks

highly doubt there is an "official" list of boarding houses. They are usually just apartments or flats that are rented out to DH, and drivers. They share and chip in to pay the rent. Most have to share a room and bathroom. Some who can afford more rents a private room to himself/herself.

Boarding houses are also where alot of DH gather on their days off... my helpers go there to use a computer to chat with their children, to watch DVDs, to chat with friends, and to nap and cook and gatherings.

Thanks for the answers Momoftwo and greenvalleys, I was staring to lose hope anyone would answer that. Our helper will be living with us- Greenvalleys. Its just that I did a search here on the site and saw that some People refer to the boarding house also as kind of a hotel and some as a place to gather insted of on the streets, but most mentioned it for the topic of 'live out DH'. Since we live in a place were most DH's are not from phill ( I think i saw only 1 here which she is also outside the complex), I wanted to know of ways to make her more comfortable. You know 'happy DH - happy employer'.

Thanks again for clarifying that point.
